Call for Abstracts
For Research Paper Presentations:
The following criteria will serve as a basis for the acceptance of a research paper to the RS Convention 2023:1. The research was authoredby students or faculty members currently enrolled in a rehabilitation sciences school.
A. Each student may only submit one (1) entry as an author
B. Research papers can be faculty-led as long as students are co-authors and will be the main presenters
2. The research was completed any year from 2013 - 2023.
3. The primary language used in the research must be English.
4. The general categories for submitted abstracts are:
A. Interprofessional Collaboration
B. Latest innovations and technological advances in the RS field
C. Implementation of evidence-based health care
D. Wellness and health promotion
E. Community based rehabilitation
F. Pain management
G. Neuroscience and rehabilitation
5. With regards to the research topic:
A. The research study must target significant and relevant issues within the field of rehabilitation sciences with clearly identified primary or secondary objectives.
B. The abstract must be concise and understandable.
C. The background must discuss identified gap/s in literature and the significance of the study.
D. The methods chosen must be appropriate to the research design.
E. Results must summarize the main findings from the analysis and have been interpreted appropriately using the necessary statistical tools.
F. The conclusions made must have accurate interpretations, discuss implications for practice and impact on research, and should align with the data or findings presented.
6. Primary studies must have ethical clearance from a credible ethics review committee or board.
7. Plagiarized papers are subjected to disqualification and are not eligible for submission.Submission Guidelines:1. The abstract must not exceed 500 words, and details of the abstract must be summarized in a table to be filled up through the provided template. (Refer to Template for Abstract Submission (RSCON 2023)
2. General guidelines for the abstract: The submitted abstract/s must fall under one of the following general categories:
A. The abstract must be written in English only.
B. The time of research must be from 2013-2023.
C. The abstract must include 3-5 keywords.
D. The template must be converted to a Microsoft Word Document (.docx) format and submitted through Google Forms
E. File name: Primary author Surname, First name_Program_Institute_RSCON2023 E.g., Dela Cruz, Juan_SLP_UST_RSCON2023.docx
3. The deadline for submission of the research abstract is on or before February 11, 2023.
4. The status of the application will be communicated to the presenters by March 3, February 26, 2023 via email.
For Research Protocol Presentations:
The following criteria will serve as a basis for the acceptance of a research protocol to the RS Convention 2023:1. The research protocol was authored by students or faculty members currently enrolled in a rehabilitation sciences school.
A. Each student may only submit one (1) entry as an author
B. Research protocols can be faculty-led as long as students are co-authors and will be the main presenters
2. The time of the research's publication must be from 2013 - 2023
3. The primary language used in the research protocol must be English.
4. The submitted abstract/s must fall under one of the following general categories:
A. Interprofessional Collaboration
B. Latest innovations and technological advances in the RS field
C. Implementation of evidence-based health care
D. Wellness and health promotion
E. Community based rehabilitation
F. Pain management
G. Neuroscience and rehabilitation

3. Optionally, authors may register their research at the Philippine Journal of Allied Health Sciences to protect intellectual property.
4. The deadline for submission of the research abstract is on or before February 11, 2023.
5. The status of the application will be communicated to the presenters by March 3, 2023 via email.
